How do I place an order for international delivery?

Simply browse and shop our site as you normally would, being sure to add products that are valid for international delivery to your basket. Then set the delivery address to an international address in the checkout.

How do I register my international billing and delivery addresses?

It's easy to register with an international billing address. Just follow these 4 easy steps:

  • 1. Click on 'Sign in | Register' (this can be found at the top of the page).
  • 2. Click 'Register' in the New Customer section.
  • 3. Enter your email address and click 'Enter a non-UK address'.
  • 4. Register your non-UK address details.

You can also set international delivery and billing addresses in the checkout by using the 'change address' buttons and following the instructions given.

Are any items excluded from international delivery?

Yes, there are some branded items as well as embroidered schoolwear that cannot be sold to customers outside of the UK.

Look out for information on the product detail pages regarding international availability.

Changing and Cancelling an Order

Can I change and cancel orders set for international delivery?

Unfortunately, an order cannot be amended once it has been confirmed or cancelled after the checkout stage. However, we do offer a local returns policy internationally, so that you can return any unwanted items.

Will I have to pay import duty or local taxes on my delivery?

There may be import duty or local taxes charged for deliveries made outside of the European Union as our products are sold on a DAP (Delivered at Place) basis. Unfortunately, we have no control over these charges and cannot tell you what the cost would be, as customs policies and import duties vary by country. For any queries you may have, we recommend that you contact your local customs office.

Do your prices include VAT?

For EU Deliveries: Tesco is required by law to charge and collect VAT on orders placed through our website for deliveries to the EU. All prices on the website are inclusive of VAT and for customers with an EU delivery address, UK VAT will be charged.

However in the UK, a number of products are charged at 0% VAT, including childrenís clothing.

For Non-EU Deliveries: For deliveries outside of the EU, VAT will not be charged. Unfortunately, we are not able to offer different prices in different countries and we only have one price on our website for all countries. However, as stated in our Terms and Conditions your order may be subject to local taxes and import duties, which remain the customerís responsibility.

Do you offer VAT refunds?

Retail Export Scheme: As a mail-order company, Tesco is unable to participate in this scheme, which reimburses VAT to customers when they purchase goods for personal export outside of the EU.

International Returns Policy

How long do I have to return my international order?

You have 28 days, from receipt of the order, to return any unwanted or unsuitable items to us for a refund.

Please note, for health and safety reasons, certain goods such as jewellery and underwear, once unsealed, can only be returned if they are damaged or of unsatisfactory quality.

Can I return an international order to a store outside of the UK?

International returns can only be sent back to us at your own cost and cannot be returned to any Tesco store outside the UK. However, we are able to process local returns (see below for more information).

How do I return an international order?

For returns from the Channel Islands, Isle of Man & Scilly Isles please follow the courier collection process.

Step 1: Creating a Returns Label

To return an item locally, simply visit our returns portal and follow the instructions given. Youíll need access to a printer to complete this process. Depending on your location, you may qualify for either a postal return or a return via our courier.

Step 2: Preparing your return

The guidelines for preparing your return are as follows:

  • 1. Remove all existing labels from the original packaging and stick the returns label you created online to the packaging. You can visit our returns portal at any time to reprint your returns label.
  • 2. Repack the item(s) for return with the order summary in the original packaging. We need the order summary to process your return. If you have multiple items for return, please pack these into a single package or tape separate packages together.
  • 3. Securely seal the parcel using the adhesive strip on the original packaging. If your box or bag is damaged and canít be reused, please pack your items securely in alternative packaging.

Step 3: Sending your Return

Please visit your nearest postal office to send postal returns. Please note that itís a good idea to keep proof of postage. Items returned without proof of postage are sent at your own risk.

If making your return via our courier, please be available between 8.00 and 18.30 on the scheduled date of your return at your collection address, so that our courier can collect your package. Details of your chosen collection address and date are contained in your returns confirmation email. Click here to change your return date at any time up until the day before it is due.

How long will it take for Tesco to receive my return?

If you use one of our local returns options your package should be received by Tesco approximately 7 working days after it has been collected by our courier or posted. You can use our returns portal to track your return.

Please note that returns from Russia may take longer than 7 days to be received as the time taken to receive a package will vary depending on the specific return method used.

Do I need to get proof of postage?

We strongly recommend you use a postal service that insures you for the value of goods you are returning, and that you also obtain proof of postage to avoid any problems.

The goods will be at your risk until received by Tesco.

International Refunds

When will I receive my refund?

Once we receive your returned order, we will inspect the goods within 24 hours and, provided we are satisfied with your return, process your refund as quickly as possible. If the reason for the return is due to an error on our part, we may also reimburse you the cost of returning the goods (you will need to email us to arrange this).

Please note...
Unless the items are faulty, the goods must be returned to us in the original condition, with all tags and labels still attached. Ensure the items are packaged and protected well for return, as we can't take responsibility for them until they arrive back to us.

We highly recommend you use a postal service that insures you for the value of goods you are returning, and that you also obtain proof of postage to avoid any problems.

The goods will be at your risk until received by Tesco.
