Buy One, Give One Free on Tesco School Uniforms
YOU BUY ONE WE GIVE ONE Save the Children
Many children in Kenya, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh have to go to school without a school uniform, in some cases they are unable to attend simply because they can't afford one. The 'Buy One, Give One Free' promotion at Tesco will provide new school uniforms to thousands of vulnerable children, helping to give the children a brighter future.
Following the success of the promotion last year when 24,000 pieces of uniform were donated to 12,000 children in Kenya, Tesco has this year expanded the promotion to include Kenya, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Aim for 2010
96,000 pieces of uniform will be handed out to 50,000 children in these countries, giving more children access to education, helping many families. These countries are key sources of Tesco school uniforms and we want to give back to the communities who supply us. In kenya Save the Children have worked with Bedi, the clothing supplier and the local education authorities to select the schools needing our donations.
How you can buy one, give one free
