How to return a purchase

We now offer free returns on all online orders to store or by post in the UK. Simply post back your purchase direct or take it to any UK Tesco store with a clothing department.

For returns from the Channel Islands, Isle of Man & Scilly Isles please follow the courier collection process.

By post

Step 1: You'll have received an order summary page with your purchase. Please fill out the reason for your return on the order summary. If the item is damaged or faulty, be sure to let us know clearly.

Step 2: Unpeel the returns label on your order summary and stick it over the original address label on the packaging.

Step 3: Repack the item with the order summary in the original packaging. We need the order summary to process your return.

Step 4: Securely seal the parcel using the remaining adhesive strip on the original packaging. If your box or bag is damaged and can't be reused please pack your items securely in alternative packaging.

Step 5: Postage is free, so you can just drop the parcel in the post. However it's a good idea to keep proof of postage. Items returned without proof of postage are sent at your own risk.

In store

Step 1: Click on www.tesco.com/storeLocator to find your closest Tesco store.

Step 2: Take the item to the store along with the order summary that came with your purchase.

By courier

You can choose to return your parcel using our Collection Service for as little as £3.24.

Step 1: Simply log on to www.myhermes.co.uk/returns/clothingattesco. You'll require a printer to print the return labels, if you do not have access to a printer don't worry, you can choose to return your items to store or by post.

Step 2: You'll need to create an account with Hermes and fill in all required fields online to book your courier collection. Collections are available Monday - Saturday. Our courier, Hermes, will collect your parcel on your agreed date between 8am and 7pm.

Step 3: If for any reason you will not be in that day you can arrange for collection from an alternative address, or you can leave the parcel in a safe location for the courier to collect at your own risk. You will need to specify the safe location at time of arranging the collection online.

If you want to track your return parcel back to us, simply log into your MyHermes account and follow the progress of your parcel back to our returns centre. Your refund will be issued within 10 working days from collection - please allow an additional 2-3 days for the payment to show on your card.

The F&F refund promise

  • If any of our products fall below the high standards you expect, we promise you can return them up to 28 days after receiving your order. Please fill in the reason for your return on your order summary.
  • If you receive a damaged or faulty item, we promise to give you a full refund. Just select the reason return code on your order summary. If your product develops a fault after 29 days, please call customer services on 0800 323 4070.
  • Please package any items you wish to return securely. We ask that you look after the product whilst it's in your possession and that when you return the product to us, you also let us have all the original packaging, tags, labels and accessories..

Our refund policy is in addition to and does not affect your legal statutory rights.

What can't I return?

You can return items because you've changed your mind about your purchase. We ask that you look after the product whilst it's in your possession and that when you return the product to us, you also let us have all the original packaging, tags, labels and accessories.

When trying on items please take reasonable care not to mark or damage them. Items such as underwear and swimming costumes must be tried on over other clothes.

All returned items will be checked in our warehouse. If we can see that the items are not in the same physical condition as they were supplied and reasonable care has not been taken with them then we may seek to recover the cost of the return from you.

If you bought your items as part of a promotion, we'll always give you a refund that matches the amount you paid for the item unless:

  • If you bought your items as part of a buy one get one free promotion and return only one of the items you won't get a refund. If you return both items you'll receive a full refund.
  • If you bought your items as part of a link saving offer (for example, buy a shirt for £20 and get a tie worth £5 for free) you must return both items to get a full refund. If you return only the paid-for item, you will no longer qualify for the offer.
    So in the example above, if you only return the shirt, you will be refunded £15 to cover the price of the tie.
  • If you bought your items as part of a multisave offer (for example, buy 3, £10 T-shirts for only £25) and return part of this order, you will no longer qualify for the offer and will have the saving deducted from your refund.
    So in the example above, you will have the £5 multisave saving deducted from your refund.

Promotions in your order?

You will always receive a refund that matches the amount that you paid for the item unless:

If you participated in a buy one get one free promotion and return only one of the items you will receive no refund. If you return both items you will receive a full refund.

If you participated in a buy one get one half price promotion and return only one of the items you will receive only the refund for the half price item. If you return both items you will receive a full refund.

If you participated in a linked saving offer (e.g. buy a shirt for £20 and get a tie worth £5 for free) you must return both items to get a full refund. If you only return the shirt in the example above you will be refunded only £15 to cover the price of the tie as you no longer qualify for the offer

If you participated in a multibuy offer (e.g. buy 3 tshirts at £10 each for only £25) and return part of this order then you will have the saving deducted from your refund as you no longer qualify for the offer (e.g. £5 in this example).

If you return an item that is included in a promotion, we will deduct the discounted value from the first item returned from that order.

For example: If you purchase two items in an order using a £10 promotion code, we will deduct the promotional value from the first item returned in that order. All other items that fall below the promotional threshold from that order will be refunded.

E.g Buy a Dress for £12 and a suit for £30 using a £10 promotional code.

The only exception to this is bundle promotions. For example: Buy a school outfit for £15 – inc. polo, sweatshirt and trousers. We will apportion the link save discount across each product included in the order.

Please check your despatch note you received with your order which will show you the discount apportionment applied.

eCoupons in your order?

eCoupons are classed as a method of payment rather than a promotion and the value of the discount is split proportionally across the items that are purchased based on the price of each item.

Therefore, if you return items from your order and you benefited from eCoupons we will recalculate the total of your revised order after your refund and so you will lose a portion of your eCoupon discount based on the percentage of your original order that you are returning.

For example, if you placed the order below with a £10 eCoupon you can see the actual refund amounts for each item that you would receive if you returned them.

Uniform Embroidery Service Returns and Refunds

It’s easy to return Uniform Embroidery Service schoolwear using our standard process. Please note that the returns address is different to our usual F&F returns address, so we can only accept embroidered schoolwear in your parcel. Please do not return non-embroidered school uniform to this address as this will delay your refund.

Information for schools

Uniform Embroidery Service Invoice Orders Returns and Refunds

We are sorry but we cannot issue refunds for Invoice orders; instead, we will credit your school’s Tesco account with the total value of any products that you return. This credit will be available to use against any future orders with Tesco and it does not have an expiry date.

Returning Uniform Embroidery Service products is free. Please note that you can only return these products by post.

Clubcard Boost Returns & Refunds FAQ's

Q: I am not satisfied with my order, how do I return it?

Q: I have a query about how my refund has been calculated

A: Refunds are split into two parts; it is apportioned between the monetary amount spent and the blue Clubcard voucher amount used for the purchase. Please see the following for an example of how the refund will be calculated:

  • £10 of blue Clubcard vouchers were boosted for £20 of Clubcard Boost eCoupons to spend on F&F.
  • A purchase of £30 was made on clothingattesco.com and the customer requests a refund on this purchase.
  • When the items are returned, you will receive an email advising of the apportioned monetary amount. In this example, that amount is £10.
  • The second part of the refund will be made within 14 days of receipt of the returned items. This consists of the original blue Clubcard voucher amount, in this case £10. Therefore in this example, the total refund amount is £20.

Q: Where is my refund?

A: If you returned your order by post, once we are in receipt of your parcel, you will receive an email confirming that we have received your returned items. The first part of your refund will be shown on this email and the remaining part of your refund will be made within 14 days.

If you have not received this returns confirmation email and 10 days have elapsed since you returned your item(s), please contact our customer service advisors with your return proof of postage details.
